Close to wrapping up pre-season training and good team success at our last off-season tournament – Minne-Mini Regional. That was the last competition for our 2019 robot – Razorback – who now heads into retirement to visit schools and many other outreach activities.
Pre-season training continues and the Lightning Turtles head out into the community to promote STEM.
The Lightning Turtles delivered their first on-sight team training at the Southern Minnesota Robotics Training event on Sat Nov 16.

Our Sibley Robotics Lightning Turtles Season is off to a great start. Nine new rookies joined the team and all members of the team are participating in a fall hand’s on training session and mini-competition called the Turtle Trials Competition Series. Much more detail in the newsletter below.
It was a crazy last 10 days to the build season, but we made it in good shape and we’re ready for our upcoming competitions.
The team got back on track after weather related cancellations the previous week and we made amazing progress!
It was a tough build week – over half of our build meeting days were canceled due to the Polar Vortex. We are getting back on track!
We’re midway through the 2019 FRC Destination Space build season. The is confident and looking forward to their upcoming competitions in March.
Big News – we were a runner up in the FRC Safety Animation competition! With just over 4 weeks to go we are feeling good & we plan for that goodness to continue. Dive in to the Week 2 Newsletter – it was finals week, but we are still a bit ahead of schedule!
