Battery and Inventory
Practical 9 - Battery Management
In Battery Management students will learn how to handle batteries and their charge, especially at competitions. This includes using partially discharged batteries for testing, recharging batteries, and ensuring that a fully charged battery goes out onto the field with the robot. Students will also become familiar with a battery beak - a tool used to determine battery health.
Practical 10 - Managing Electrical Inventory
It is important that Team 3100 has sufficient inventory on hand for all electrical needs - both during the build and competition season, as well as the offseason. Students will learn how to manage the inventory system used to track critical electrical components, both long term and consumable.
Practical 11 - Packing for Competitions
Part of being in the electrical division is being able to prepare and pack for competitions. Ensuring that enough backup electrical components, tools, and consumables are brought to each competition is critical so that repairs can be made on the robot in between matches. Another important skill that will be learned is how to pack so that parts and tools can be found and returned to their intended locations easily.
