Fabrication 17 - Mitre Cuts
Mitre, or angled, cuts are an important part of woodworking. They can be performed on the wood chop saw (mitre saw) with a chop mitre cut, or on the table saw as a rip mitre cut. Students will learn how to accurately set the angles for these cuts, and the important safety considerations when making the cuts.
Fabrication 18 - Vertical Bandsaw
The Vertical Bandsaw allows for curved or shaped cuts to be made in wood. A talented fabricator can trace a shape onto a piece of wood and use the vertical bandsaw to cut that shape out. Students will learn how to transfer designs and drawings on to wood, and how to safely cut these shapes on the Vertical Bandsaw.
