Fabrication 20 - Lathe II

The second level of lathe proficiency focuses on using tools in the tool post to modify the diameter of cylindrical materials. Fabrication 21 - Welding

Welding allows for metals to be joined permanently by adding melted metal and then allowing this to cool and solidify. Students will learn both MIG (Metal Inert Gas, for steel) and TIG (tungsten inert gas, for aluminum) welding basics. They will learn how to safely operate welders using dimming face masks and gloves, and will practice making accurate welds. They will also learn how to clean up welds using sanding/grinding after they are made.
