FAB from CAD
Theory 4 - Tool Selection
When a fabricator is presented with a part to make, it is important they are able to determine which tool or tools to use to make the part most efficiently and accurately. In this module a fabricator will learn a set of heuristics (strategies derived from previous knowledge) that can be used to determine which tools to use when.
Theory 5 - Drawing Reading
It is common that when a part has been designed in CAD, the fabricator will be given a drawing, either digital or on paper, of the part they will be making. In this module a fabricator will learn how to interpret that drawing, as well as how to determine if more information is needed from the Design division to accurately make the part. An understanding of part measurement and tolerances is critical to making accurate parts.
